Tips to Prevent Gum Disease

Aside from regular exercise, here are a few other ways you can prevent gum disease:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes using a soft-bristled toothbrush
  • Floss daily to remove plaque, food particles, bacteria, and other debris from between teeth
  • Always use a toothpaste and mouthwash that contains fluoride
  • Visit your dentist regularly for routine cleanings and exams
  • Limit your intake of sugary, fatty, acidic, and processed foods and drinks
  • Eat a well-balanced diet full of foods that meet all your nutritional needs
